Why Contrast Therapy Works

Sauna First or Cold Plunge First?

Sauna first. The Finnish protocol - which generated the bulk of the cardiovascular research data - always leads with heat. Physiologically, heating the body first and then applying cold produces greater norepinephrine release than cold applied to an unheated body.
